Laptop Price Prediction

Introduction

Predicting laptop prices accurately is essential for both consumers and industry stakeholders. In this research, we explored and compared the performance of various machine learning (ML) approaches for laptop price prediction. Our objective was to evaluate the effectiveness of different ML techniques in accurately estimating laptop prices.

Overview of the dataset

I used 3 different dataset , two of them collected in 2019 I got them from Kaggle , and the last one collected by me in 2023 using scraping methods like BeautifulSoap.
First I merged the first two together , then applied some exploration on them , then did the same for 2023 data then compare the changes that happened between 2019 to 2023.
We Can consider both dataset are a random sample from the real world , but because the small size of the sample size it may be misleading.

Insights from the 2019 Data

We can see from the next graph that more than 75% of laptops are from only 4 brand that dominated the latptops market.

And We can see that the dominated OS is Windows , and the reason behind that is the Mac OS is Exclusive for the Apple Devices
The most common RAM Size is 8 , but we notice the RAM of Size 2 is kinda rare and thats intersting , So we can say that most of office laptops have ram of size 4 or 8, and the laptop of size 64 RAM is consider a workstation laptop
Most of the laptops are Notebook laptops which consider as office a laptops and have mid_to_low prices
We can see the average price for a good laptop is about 1000 to 1200 euro
The avreage price of Apple,MSI,Miscrsoft laptops are high compare to other Brands
The highest prices goes to Gaming laptops and workstation laptops , because both of them have a highly price CPUs & GPUs
